    Significance and Selfishness

    Significance and Selfishness

Are you taking the road of significance, or are you taking the road of selfishness? In today’s episode of the Maxwell Leadership Podcast, John C. Maxwell shares a lesson about how you can determine which road you are going to take in your leadership!

After his lesson, Mark Cole and Chris Robinson help you to apply what John has shared to your life and leadership.

    Key takeaways:

You do not find a person of significance that has a high degree of selfishness in his or her life.

People of significance have a total different mindset than people that are selfish.

Selfishness causes us to think we’re going to get everything we ever want in life, when in reality, it keeps us from the things we really need in life.

Our BONUS resource for this episode is the Significance and Selfishness Worksheet, which includes fill-in-the-blank notes from John’s teaching. You can download the worksheet by visiting MaxwellPodcast.com/Significant and clicking “Download the Bonus Resource.” =

Overcoming Instead of Being Overcome (Part 2)

This week, we’re finishing our two-part series on overcoming instead of being overcome! Last week, John C. Maxwell shared the first two R’s that people who give up are usually beat up by (Regret and Resentment) so that you can recognize those things in your leadership and work towards overcoming them. This week, John shares the last two R’s (Resistance and Rejection) and continues to help you know how to keep an eye out for them in your leadership.

After John’s lesson, Mark Cole and Traci Morrow talk about what he taught and how you can apply it to your life and leadership!

    Key takeaways:

You reduce resistance by coming up with answers that others have not figured out.

    Hurting people hurt people.

Successful people do what unsuccessful people won’t do.

Overcoming Instead of Being Overcome (Part 1)

Overcoming Instead of Being Overcome (Part 1)

When difficult times happen in life or in leadership, it can be tempting to want to give up instead of keep going. That’s why on today’s episode of the Maxwell Leadership Podcast, we’re starting a brand new two-part series on overcoming instead of being overcome. In today’s lesson, John C. Maxwell shares four R’s that people who give up are usually beat up by so that you can recognize those things in your leadership and work towards overcoming them!

After John’s lesson, Mark Cole and Traci Morrow sit down to discuss what they have learned and give you helpful advice on how you can apply it to your own life and leadership.

    Key takeaways:

The most important lessons I’ve ever learned are out of my mistakes in life.
You have to take control of what you can control.
If you add value to those above you, that’ll take care of the resentment problem.
If you add value to those below you, that’ll take care of the pride problem.

Love Getting my Dose

I had the pleasure of hearing John speak live in the early 1990s in Texas after releasing his 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership book; I was at the AdvoCare Success School. I have been a fan ever since and have a number of his books. Love this podcast and each episode has been timely for me as a solo entrepreneur since 2012. Such wisdom and direction.

Immeasurable

I’ve listed to John Maxwell for years. He’s been like a mentor to me even though we’ve never met. His wisdom and leadership skills are valuable beyond measure. This podcast is just one of many ways he’s impacted my life for the better.

Sound Instruction and Value

Being a Leader is not for the weak. The lessons are thought provoking and powerful but easy to apply. What good is knowledge of you can not apply it… this adds value to my life and makes me a better leader.
