Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld with Caroline Cotter

Thanks to Ashleigh C who rudely predicted that Clara and Sarah would really like Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld, a NYT bestseller for April 2023. But yes Ashleigh, Sarah was mad it wasn’t horny the whole time.

We also have special guest - comedian and actress Caroline Cotter, who has appeared on late night shows from Conan to Late Night with Seth Meyers. So we knew she would love to whine about this on.

A blue-skinned woman? A rural Appalachian library? A murderous mule? All this and more when the MBC ladies tackle the NYTs bestseller "The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek." Hee-haw, we reckon!

Hotel New Hampshire by John Irving

Mean Booker Mike E. Recommended this NYT bestseller because “its got suicide and incest and hostages!” So we said yes to reading Hotel New Hampshire by John Irving - but were pissed about the 20-hour audiobook!

    November 9 by Colleen Hoover

Mean Booker Jenny D recommended this NYT bestseller. Jenny said: "So i havent personally read. This is a book that gets alot of hype like all of hers.” Then she proceeded to lavish us with compliments so how could WE NOT DO THIS BOOK?

Funny hosts

This is one of the few podcasts that I actually laugh out loud at the hosts jokes. My children think I’m going crazy. But it’s great, and now I’ve started reading the books along with them so it’s fun.

Always fun!! I love this podcast because it’s like being part of a book club without actually being a part of a book club 🙃

So Happy I Found This Podcast

Because I’m the smart one in my friend group, I’m the only one who reads (aka listens to) the literary masterpieces of the NYT bestseller list. But this begs the question, what’s the point of reading if you have to do it alone? Well I don’t have to anymore, thanks to the parasocial relationships I have with the hosts of this podcast.
Would love some booktok/nyt list crossovers, if such things exist. Maybe any Tessa Bailey, Emily Henry, or Elle Kennedy, Tell Me Lies (Carola Lovering) or Bad Vibes Only (Nora McInerny)?
Love this pod, love the hosts. You should listen.
