    Meditating on Work and Self-Worth

The way we view work can shape how we see ourselves. When our identity gets tangled up with our productivity, it’s easy to feel like our worth depends on what we achieve. This episode invites listeners to step back and rethink the true value of their labor. In this meditation, host Jay Kim revisits a profound conversation with Carmen Imes, exploring the connection between vocation and identity. Imes suggested that while our work has significant value, it doesn’t define our self-worth. The conversation focused on cultivating a healthier mindset around work and avoiding the trap of equating accomplishments with self-worth. Tune in to this episode to explore how to find deeper meaning beyond productivity. Meditating on Your Rule of Life

As we anticipate season two of The Digital Examen releasing this January, many of us are still exhausted by the cacophony and chaos of the modern digital age, where peace is scarce and self-examination is infrequent. In Meditations from The Digital Examen, a new podcast from IVP, host Jay Y. Kim recalls reflective questions inspired by his conversations with a variety of leaders, pastors, and scholars throughout season one. Through slow yet focused meditative moments, Jay helps listeners pause and tune their hearts and minds to hear the voice of God in all its clarity, kindness, and strength.  In this first meditation, Jay revisits his conversation with John Mark Comer, who discussed the importance of intentionally examining our rule of life—the daily habits, priorities, and practices that form who we are. Jay invites us to prayerfully consider the current state of our own rule of life and contemplate any changes God may be leading us to make in order to more fully orient our lives around Jesus.
