Ologies with Alie Ward
Volcanoes. Trees. Drunk butterflies. Mars missions. Slug sex. Death. Beauty standards. Anxiety busters. Beer science. Bee drama. Take away a pocket full of science knowledge and charming, bizarre stories about what fuels these professional -ologists' obsessions. Humorist and science correspondent Alie Ward asks smart people stupid questions and the answers might change your life.

Why am I at a sawmill on a Monday afternoon?
-2 j
I started my day listening to the Xylology (LUMBER) episode on my way to work. By 4 pm I was in the log deck of Angel City Lumber sniffing logs, wishing I had a reason to buy eucalyptus flooring, and, yes, asking smart people somewhat-less-dumb questions (thanks to the earlier briefing from Alie Ward). It was like a real-life podcast. Thanks for telling stories that make me want to drive to a sawmill on a Monday afternoon, among other enthused and only partially-informed adventures.
My secret

I usually save my secrets for the end of my review, but I’ll tell you my secret now … its Ologies with Alie Ward. So many great topics. Packed with facts and science. And the humor … delicious. The combination of Alie and her guests is perfect. The best part is there are so many great episodes that you can listen to one now and have so many for later … like one second later. Ologies, I love you. Found where podcasts are sold. In all seriousness tho, every aspect of teh show is done so well. Quite possibly my favorite thing to put in my ears.

This podcast would make a great syllabus for an undergrad degree. And way more useful than a lot of them. If you listen randomly, pick a subject you don’t think you like and get a great surprise! The best!
Wish I could give 10 stars

I have been listening to Ologies since the very beginning and have listened to most episodes 2 or more times. I can honestly say that this podcast alone has gotten me through some of the toughest times of my life and I genuinely feel like a better person now than I felt before I discovered this podcast. Thank you so much for everything that you do Alie, and thank you to every single guest that took the time and energy to meet with you and educate us listeners on their amazing passions. I honestly think the world would be a better place if listening to Ologies became mandatory. Every single episode from volcanoes to burnouts and everything in between is absolutely riveting and I have slowly become the annoying fun fact guy in every social situation and I am not ashamed of it. Thank you again, and please continue to make these episodes for as long as physically possible. I truly don’t know what I would do without them ): P.S. PLEASE do arachnology
