Hi friend! Welcome to the messy imperfect life with leigh podcast. Life can be fun, adventurous, ridiculous, miraculous, and messy as hell. The mess is something we all have in common. That comforts me. So often when we are in the mess of our life we isolate, feel ashamed, or withdraw. I think the mess is the best place to connect. When we connect in the mess, not only do we feel better and start to heal, but we are reminded that we are not alone. It's where the gold is, where we find our greatest strength, and our deepest learnings.

Let’s get vulnerable, roll up our sleeves, and get our hands dirty. Let’s extract the gems we have inside, polish them, and share them with the world. Embrace exactly where you are, own your worth, and unleash your Star Power (and I’m not talking about the Hollywood kind)!

    Mo Collins

    Mo Collins

Mo Collins reminds me of Carol Burnett.  I shared that with her on this podcast. We have known each other for a very long time and have both been through the good and the bad of life. You may know her as an Actress and Comedian from The Walking Dead, F is for Family, or back in the day on FOX's sketch comedy show Mad Tv.  Mo is sexy as hell and currently living in Los Angeles with her beloved, Alex Skuby.

    Jill Van Lokeren

    Jill Van Lokeren

Jill Van Lokeren is one of my best friends. When I prayed to God asking for an amazing woman to come into my life, Jill walked in. We travel, drink Rose, and celebrate life together. Jill is an Executive Producer who has worked with Oprah Winfrey for the last 28 years, produced for Maria Shriver and is currently traveling the country as the Creative Director of Michelle Obama’s “Becoming” Book Tour. Jill resides in Los Angeles with her darling husband John and their two cool kids. Such a treat to have this powerful woman on my podcast and as a dear friend.

    Sara Benincasa

    Sara Benincasa

I love Sara Benincasa. We met once for coffee a few years back after connecting on Facebook. She is something else. A ballsy brassy broad could be one way to describe her. Check her out on instagram @sarajbenincasa  where you may see her voluptuous breast and where I am not sure if she is ever wearing pants.  Sara is a stand-up comedian, actress, college speaker on mental health awareness, and the author of "Real Artists Have Day Jobs"  "DC Trip" "Great" ; and "Agorafabulous!: Dispatches From My Bedroom". She also wrote a very silly joke book called "Tim Kaine Is Your Nice Dad."  She hosts the podcast "Where Ya From?" and has interviewed Ben Stiller, Adam Pally, Jenny Yang and others about their origin stories (geographic and otherwise.) In 2017, she adapted "DC Trip" as a screenplay with Bona Fide, Gunpowder & Sky, and Adaptive Studios. She also adapted "Agorafabulous" as a pilot for TV with Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody. Recent roles include "Corporate" on Comedy Central (2018), "Bill Nye Saves The World"" on Netflix (2017), "The Jim Gaffigan Show" on TVLand (2016) and the critically acclaimed short film "The Focus Group" (2016), which she also wrote. I do love her!

    Mariel Hemingway

    Mariel Hemingway

Holy hell I have never seen legs like hers. She has one of the most radiant spirits I have ever seen. I met Mariel in a green room. I knew her family name and her fame, but I hadn’t experienced her heart. We connected that day and have kept in touch ever since. I am blessed to share the renaissance woman,  Mariel Hemingway, with you today. She is not only an iconic Academy Award nominated actor from a celebrated family, she is a prolific author, adventurist, eco activist, healthy lifestyle and mental health advocate, a yoga video star, an entrepreneur and a much sought after speaker focused on mind-body-spirit optimization and purposeful living. I don't know if that was enough descriptive words to get all of who she is. Enjoy Mariel Hemingway!!!!

    Jacqui Pitman

    Jacqui Pitman

Jacqui Pitman and I have been friends for about 30 years.  We have been through it all.  I met her when I was on the reality show STUDS and the Executive Producer Howard Schultz (her mentor)  asked me to work on the show after I recorded my episode. I took his offer and ended up working under Jacqui.  Jacqui is a resilient, big hearted, strong, sexy, hell of a woman. From the moment we met, I knew she would be a tough one to win over, but I knew I wanted to invest the time.  Boy was it worth it. I have had some of my biggest laughs and learnings with her. No matter how often we see each other, she is one of my nearest and dearest and will be until I head back to the stars.

At peace with my messy imperfect self

I met Leigh at a women’s conference where her magical presence both delighted and enlightened me. I felt immediately connected to her practical and playful messages that bring balance, clarity and worth to life’s messiest moments.

My in-flight guru

I met Leigh on a flight to Cabo. At first I was like who is this crazy chatty lady but after the initial shock of her grabbing my phone and asking me to give her podcast a listen, I was completely enamored. She’s like an oatmeal cookie that you later find out is chocolate chip. I spent the flight listening to her podcast and really feeling for her and her guests’ stories. We discussed the episodes and she just rained so much wise advice that fellow passengers started weighing in. That’s what she’s good at; connecting with people on a deeper level and making you feel comfortable to be vulnerable because she’s being vulnerable. She’s been through the ringer but is chic AF. I learned so much about her and left the conversation truly inspired to push forward from my own messy imperfect life.
