Roll Bounce (2005)
Vincent reveals the origin of Chicken & Waffles and shares his favorite breakfast spot for the sweet and savory. The list of un-remake-able Black films ain't as long as we think. 2005 was an incredible year for starts (Grey's Anatomy; YouTube), stops (Luther Vandross; Shirley Chisholm), and Bow Wow (Roll Bounce, the movie!)

Drumline (2002)
Does The Micheaux Mission skew old? This episode features a reassessment of the career of Jimmy “J. J.” Walker (including a cruise aboard The Love Boat), a requiem for Florida Evans of Good Times, 2002 in Black entertainment, Salt-N-Pepa, Run-DMC, the end of TLC— oh, and Vincent and Len review Nick Cannon and Orlando Jones in Charles Stone’s instant classic sports-music jam. You be the judge.

Bring It On (2000)

The Plot Thickens: Decoding John Ford
We’re sharing a bonus episode from our friends at The Plot Thickens, a podcast from TCM about movies and the people who make them. Their new season is all about John Ford, the most influential filmmaker in cinema history. In this episode, we’re exploring Ford’s early days, when he rose to fame by being one of the most reckless, independent directors in Hollywood.

One of the best pods around
The highlight of my week is when Len and Vincent release a new episode. I listen to a multitude of podcasts but this is the only one where I listen to EVERY episode that’s released. Their perspective is so fresh, nuanced, and fun, you’re unlikely to find it elsewhere.
Great show
I have listened for years and am sorry it has taken this long to leave a review. The knowledge and perspective of the hosts makes this one of the best movie review podcasts, pop culture podcasts really, on the air. Everyone, regardless of race, should check this wonderful podcast it really does have a quality that crosses over to appeal to all lovers of cinema.
