    As a Caribbean woman, I'm thrilled to share a special episode of "Self-Love Letters for Everyday Superheroes" featuring Alethia Cadore MA, BACyc(P) Psychotherapist, a fellow mental health advocate and strategist. Did you know that one in five children experience a mental health breakdown? Are you struggling to navigate whether a loved one is acting out or in need of additional support? In this episode, we share insights and practical strategies for recognizing and supporting children and elder parents in times of stress and peacelessness.

    Started her career as a stem cell scientist, working in labs and then moving into direct stem cell collections, finally before leaving London, England was working for DKMS, the worlds biggest stem cell donation and transplantation organization as a medical coordinator. 

    Now a Public health MSc Student with a focus on BIPOC & LGBTQ+ Wellness.

    Moving to Canada, started her on a journey of self discovery, wanting to team all of her expertise with her passion for educating and helping others. She wanted a business that would take a holistic approach to education.

    As of 2018 specializing in decolonizing sexual health, education and wellness, Becoming Certified Reiki Master and supporting others healing through guided mediations, as well as other wellness practices.

    Maxan also recognized the importance for education on topics, such as finance, sustainability, natural trustworthy and environmentally friendly products.

    Minimalism, living with intention, spirituality, veganism, and other topics that make up the intersections of modern life, steeped in connecting to the past, through healing and trauma informed practices.

    Maxan and her Team is dedicated to Well being. Our Education studio is made up of truly amazing and spiritual people, all of whom have dedicated their lives to spreading the message of mindfulness and health to our clients. We’ve been a certified Wellness Studio in Canada since 2020, sharing our beliefs that life should be lived with joy, gratitude, and a dedication to being present in the moment. These feelings inform and guide our teachings, which are focused on helping our clients better connect to themselves, their communities, and to the rest of the world.

    Alexandra Yeboah is a writer, storyteller facilitator, and mental health advocate living in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. She has a background in journalism and has worked close to seven years in nonprofit communications in various social media management, digital marketing and content creation roles. To date, Alexandra remains committed to informing, inspiring and empowering audiences through transformative storytelling. Her love of curiosity and adventure-seeking is what often drives her quest to discover new things, meet new people and find compelling stories to tell.

    She is especially keen on sharing about the beauty of storytelling and the amazing way it can bring communities closer together, build legacies and ultimately change lives.     Reframing Youth Conflict with Mediation Skills

    April 25th, 2021 I was a guest on Mediation Station with Gregg Fenten, AccFM (OAFM)

    Gregg has been actively involved for over twenty-one years in a range of processes to assist individuals, couples and families regarding the changing nature of their relationships. His current work includes doing mediation, facilitation, coaching, training and consulting.

    He works as a triage specialist at the Family Courts in Toronto as an Information and Referral Coordinator, coaching with York University's Certificates in Dispute Resolution, Advanced Certificate in Dispute Resolution and Family Mediation Programs.

    Gregg is an instructor with the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies

    He offers mentorships/apprenticeships with individuals looking to acquire the core skills to be an effective communicator. He has a long history of experience in community mediation/development starting with Conflict Mediation Services of Downsview (CMS-D) in Toronto as an intern, volunteer, mediator and case manager to ultimately become the Director, Community Transformation Program.

    In February 2005, Gregg founded radio program Mediation Station which he writes, produces and hosts each Sunday from 8 to 9 p.m. EST on CHHA 1610 AM in Toronto, Canada.

    I'm certified as a Restorative Justice Mediator & had the pleasure of learning from Gregg Fenten during my time at CMS-D. I definitely use my mediation skills supporting Youth through Family conflict; social justice issues.

     We  talked about the pandemic, Youth/parental conflict, how living with Youth at different stages of Development can be challenging
