So here we dive deep into the tenets of Interning 101 the book, with Emily’s wealth of experience and insights into modern business best practices and beyond.
Today Emily discusses, ultimately, how to get a job in competitive industries - make yourself indispensable. This includes mastering “grunt work,” pushing past nerves to grow in your career, how to problem solve, keeping a positive attitude, while remembering that the key to success is consistently doing great work, not always expecting praise for each task. You will also learn how timing in asking for help and advice is key, as well as how what you glean observing the professional environment is almost more important than the tasks you are given.
