Godsend

Incredible church. Incredible pastors. What a joy and privilege it is to have sound doctrine like this amidst all the faux-evangelical babble. Thankful for these sermons that pack a punch and leave no stone unturned. Thank you, MBC.

Truth for Post-Christian America

Those who are followers of Jesus in America have taken note that there are forces within the nation that are increasingly hostile to those who claim a relationship with Jesus of Nazareth. Where we find ourselves is at a point of transition. We await the return of Jesus with expectant hearts, but through out lives, we presumed (incorrectly) that we could live peaceably in the greatest country in the world, with all of its benefits and this would continue till we died. Well perhaps it may have been so for members of the population who were born in the 30’s to the 50’s and who have departed, but not so for those who are witness to the changes that have accelerated in 2021. Some would conclude that there is a political remedy to set things in order again. Others presume that a radical fracturing of government will transpire. The truth is, nobody really knows the details of what’s next for America, but we can actually benefit from the strife that is clearly underway across this nation. We can be reminded that this is not our home, it never was, and attempting to make “peace” within enemy territory was never a good idea. The strive and discord has clarified that we are here but a very short time and our purpose is to give glory to our God and creator that purposed our redemption before the creation of time through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ - 100% man and 100% God, who stepped into His Own creation to restore the relationship with God that had been broken in the Garden of Eden (Gen 3). We can see with greater clarity that how we live behind enemy lines should be closer to the protocol that Daniel followed when exiled to Babylon. Daniel knew where to draw the line. He was trusting and faithful to God. He was also respectful and gracious and helpful to those who persecuted him or were driven by dark spiritual forces to kill or destroy him. He was kind to his enemies. This is how followers of Jesus in America and in Southern California can transact with those who we perceive are tearing the nation apart. That sounds upside down, but it is how Jesus called us to be - set apart - different - salt of the earth with a message of truth for those in need. Mission Bible Church speaks truth into this condition - into the present circumstances - into the time before the return of Jesus for his Bride, the Church in the Rapture.
