Navigating Grief with Brent Oddson

Listening Well Podcast

In this episode, I have the pleasure to speak to Brent Oddson, a coach and counsellor with first-hand experience in grief, trauma and loss, and has made it his mission to help other people experiencing similar challenges. From his own first-hand experience of losing his darling wife and mother in the same week, he has made it his mission to help other people experiencing similar challenges.

He joins me to discuss the universal experience of grief and how we can navigate it with awareness, acceptance, and intentionality.

Here’s what we explored:

  • Understanding Grief: What it means, how it manifests physically and emotionally, and why it’s a natural part of the human experience.
  • Healing Practices: The importance of small, healthy actions like movement, rituals, and self-care to break patterns of pain and foster resilience.
  • Connection and Empathy: How supporting others and asking for help can create meaningful healing and a sense of belonging.
  • Choosing Joy: Living a happy life with sad moments rather than a sad life with happy moments.

Brent’s reflections are a powerful reminder that while grief is inevitable, it’s also a pathway to growth, connection, and finding meaning in life’s transitions.
