Proprietor of The Rage Cafe

I like the content of this show, but either bill needs to get a new mic or probably more accurately the producer needs to balance this audio better. The podcast audio is noticeably quiet and the commercials, by contrast, BLAST my ear drums every time they come on because I have to have the volume up so high. Come on, ESPN.

Not the first to say, but audio is lacking for what otherwise is a quality show: - Bills audio is muffled, quiet, and cuts in and out. It’s like he’s leaning toward and away from a mic. - Bills audio is always waaaaay quieter than his guests. I have to turn up the volume to hear him, but his guests are then super loud - Ad reads are turned up to 11, I almost don’t want to listen with headphones. Going from bills rapid and muffled audio, to a professional reading is jarring. Even his own ad reads are night and day. It’s like he did the ads in a studio and the episode in a bathroom.
Good stuff, but prepare to focus on same teams every week

Been following Barnwell since the Grantland days, and have always enjoyed his football insights. While the show is still enjoyable, it’s becoming clear that the podcast is a lower priority for Bill as he does more TV hits. Part of that shows in that it’s almost always the same teams being discussed every week, which is great if you’re a fan of the Steelers, Jets, Giants, Eagles or Cowboys. As a Packers/NFC North fan, I’ve come to accept that Bill just doesn’t follow the division closely and really seems out-of-depth when forced to discuss it.
