I have appreciated the content and topics when I can make them out or focus, but as someone who (1) has some auditory processing difficulty with words and (2) listens to podcasts while doing things like driving, doing dishes, cooking, and other things that have their own sounds, the fact that the equipment the hosts are using or the mixing they’re doing leaves the audio sounding like talking on the phone in a tunnel. It’s often overwhelmed by ambient sound if I use my Bluetooth speaker, so then when I listen with sound cancelling headphones the poor quality is a bit painful. It makes me really sad and I tried and tried to listen because the topic is SO NEEDED in this day and age, the context is so needed, but I really couldn’t get through even a single episode. We can fight back to dismantle late stage colonialist capitalism if we are so impoverished as to b ground under its boots, especially when underprioritizing accessibility for disabled folx, so I hope the makers invest in quality microphones and pay a living wage to fellow anti-capitalist audio producer to mix and master the episodes and help guests to be recorded audibly. I’d love to return when I can make out what they are saying.
