Old Kentucky Tales S10, E4: An Ode to Meat Showers and Fatherless Snakes

Brent reaches for answers in the riveting 4th installment of Col. Daniel Hurt Days. But even better, they are joined by guest Dean Britton Shurley, a poet and all-around good guy, who performs some eclectic, poetic readings. Looks like they talked about meat showers and fatherless snakes. Will the discussion live up to the intrigue of that title? Only you will find out! Fun History Lesson

Love the banter and enjoy learning little-known facts about Kentucky’s history. Please keep it going for at least another 100 episodes.

Fun and Informative!

Always entertaining. This show's often humorous take on the past is perfect for those who enjoy a light hearted look at history. While focused on Western Kentucky history specifically, the tales and "sponsors" are sometimes also reflective of the larger American culture. For those unfamiliar with the unique culture of Kentucky, the show is very enlightening. For those intimate with Kentucky history, the show provides insight to both well known and lesser known tales. From single occurance events to every day life in times past, this show covers interesting topics with funny report between the hosts. A must listen for lovers of Kentucky, American history, and Commercial history.

Nostalgic and fun

This show takes you back into some unique stories of Kentucky’s past. The hosts do a great job of making these “old tales” relevant, fresh, and point out the bits of humor involved.
This show is recorded in western Kentucky but is of interest to any Kentuckian, history buff, any nostalgic loving individual or person who likes to say, “did you know?”
