On love, dating as a Black woman

Black Then, Black Now

In this new episode, we invite special guest Beverly to discuss what it’s like dating as a Black woman. Beverly talks about social media dating, what it’s like for Black girls and women on reality TV shows and developing your own personal relationship with yourself.

‘Do they date Black women?’ As Black women, on TV, and in the real world, we are often told that we are undeserving of love. In shows like Love Island or Take me out, we are often the last one that is picked, or told that we are undesirable for one reason or another. Join us as we discuss the obstacles that we face & what we can do to overcome it.

Black Then, Black Now is a podcast produced by four young black Londoners aged 18 to 24, with the support of the Voltage Revolution. Each episode is a conversation between one young person and an elder, providing an intergenerational take on topics such as identity, music, education and love.
