A chilling journey into the heart of a city’s darkest secrets: The Judy Carter Murder Hello, I’m Jay Nicoll from Nicoll Investigations and I’m here to tell you about the next episode of Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast, available now! Toronto, February 25, 1955. 1955 murder case of 8-year-old girl remains a mystery to this day When 8-year-old Judy Carter vanishes without a trace after school, her disappearance ignites a citywide hunt, hailed as the “greatest search ever carried out in Toronto.” Hundreds rally—firefighters, police, Boy Scouts, even her school principal—combing a vast 38-square-kilometer area. From Cherry Beach to Leaside, hope flickers... but no sign of the Cabbagetown girl emerges. Ten days turn into a nightmare of unanswered questions. And then, a month later, two boys fishing along the Rouge River in Unionville north of the city, stumble upon a horrifying discovery. Judy’s lifeless body, strangled with her own wool scarf, had been thrown into the river, carried downstream by cruel waters before coming to rest. The haunting details—the scarf cutting into her tender flesh, her body otherwise unmarked—leave investigators shaken. What twisted soul could commit such an act? Was this an isolated tragedy, or part of a far darker pattern? Whispers of a serial predator stalking Toronto’s children in the 1950s send shockwaves through the city. Who killed Judy Carter? And how many more lives might this shadow have claimed? Uncover the truth behind the unspeakable. The questions linger. The answers will chill you to the core. London’s Forgotten Nightmare: The Chilling Mystery of Jack the Stripper - Part 1

London’s Forgotten Nightmare: The Chilling Mystery of Jack the Stripper - Part 1 Welcome to Ontario Cold Cases: Canada’s True Crime Podcast—the show that dives headfirst into the murkiest depths of unsolved mysteries, where every twist keeps you guessing and every detail sends a shiver down your spine. Today we’re taking you across the pond to the foggy streets of 1960s London, where a shadowy figure known only as Jack the Stripper left an indelible mark of terror. Yes, you heard that right—Jack the Stripper. The name may sound quirky, but there’s nothing funny about this nightmare. Between 1959 and 1965, this cold-blooded killer prowled the streets of West London, targeting sex workers in a spree of murders that baffled Scotland Yard and terrified the public. Over six years, eight women were found dead—strangled, stripped, and dumped in various locations across the city. The gruesome details? Missing teeth. Paint flecks on the bodies. A killer who vanished without leaving a trace. Why the nickname? Well, much like his Victorian predecessor, Jack the Ripper, our modern-day villain preyed on vulnerable women under cover of darkness. The press couldn’t resist the parallel, and the name stuck. But while Jack the Ripper’s brutality was marked by mutilation, Jack the Stripper’s signature was disturbingly precise: petite victims, no signs of struggle, and the strange industrial paint clue that led nowhere. By the time Scotland Yard connected the dots after his third victim, the city was in a frenzy. Was it a gangster with a sinister secret? A disturbed factory worker hiding in plain sight? Or someone even more chilling? Despite an exhaustive investigation, the killer slipped away like a ghost, leaving behind a legacy of fear—and one of London’s greatest unsolved mysteries. Join us for Part 1 of: Jack the Stripper, where we’ll unravel the tragic stories of the victims, and explore the eerie parallels between London’s two most infamous Jacks. Don’t miss it—subscribe now to Ontario Cold Cases: Canada’s True Crime Podcast wherever you get your podcasts. Shadows Over Toronto

Shadows Over Toronto Hello, I’m Jay Nicoll of Nicoll Investigations and this is an Ontario Cold Cases - Canada’s True Crime Podcast fictional episode of Whodunnit Wednesday’s. Go back to the Golden Era of detective fiction and enjoy stories in the tradition of the greats of writing. From Agatha Christie to Raymond Chandler to John Creasey, these are short stories I hope you enjoy. Shadows Over Toronto John Blake’s phone buzzed with a new email—an anonymous tip about the unsolved “Gardener Murders,” a series of cold cases from the late 90s where victims were found buried in shallow graves in various community gardens around the city, each with a rare flower planted atop them. The cases had gone cold, and the killer was never found. Looking closely at the photo he realized it was a new site, unconnected to the old patterns but eerily similar in execution. The realization sent a chill down his spine. Was the killer back, or was it a copycat inspired by the original crimes? Either way, John knew he was about to descend into a deep, dark world once again.
