This week we’re addressing an aspect of recovery, while incredibly important and impactful to many of us in or contemplating recovery, is often overlooked. There’s oodles of information about parenting in general, and some of that is quite applicable, but very little in the way of the unique challenges those of us in Recovery face. We’ll identify the key issues parents in recovery face, how we can overcome them successfully, and how we can use the tools of recovery to become more present, understanding and consistent with our children. Both Jason and I are Parents in Recovery and I assure you we’re not sugar coating the challenges we face as traverse the often-difficult dynamics that present themselves on the daily as recovering parents. As I often say, life has a habit of getting lifey and the parent child relationship is no exception to that rule.
