Episode 5: Louder Pleas‪!‬ LAF Out Loud!

    • Education

As sensitive as today's discussion may be, we feel it is necessary to put on the table.  Numerous Black Women have been violated in some way (molestation, rape, abuse and neglect).  Here are a few facts you may or may not know: : 60% of black girls experience sexual assault at some point in their life; 1 in 4 girls is sexually abused before the age of 18; and for every 15 black women who are raped only 1 reports her assault. (www.rainn.org/www.CDC.gov).  What's going on Black People???  Why are these acts of violence allowed to occur with little to no consequences to the perpetrators, who often are relatives or known acquaintances to the family?  And why are the victims not allowed to speak their truth? The violations have been made.  There are many flags on the play and now it's time to throw your F.L.A.G. and Fight Like A Goddess.  Can we get a little LOUDER Please for LOUDER PLEAS!  (Excerpt from We Are A LOUD Blog post written by Tracy King, Life Midwife).   Recommended Links and Resources: www.RERC.ME/BLOG (We Are A LOUD Blog Post) www.RAINN.org (Rape, Assault, Incest National Network) 24/7 Assistance Call 800-656-HOPE(4673) The following IG Link may also be helpful:  #Blackfemaletherapists--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/lafoutloud/message
