728 - Experiencing Transformation: Mark Mason's Journey Through Professional Coaching

In this episode, I share that I've been creating a special series of podcast episodes called "The Mark Mason Sessions" for another podcast that I produce, Cliff's Notes on Profitable Coaching. That's precisely what Mark Mason did just one week after session #5 of The Mark Mason Sessions. Mark published episode #263 of his Late Night Internet Marketing Podcast.

In this episode, I share Mark's most recent episode so you can hear the insights and takeaways he gained from our latest coaching session.

726 - Choosing Your Own Adventure In Life: Start By Questioning the Dream

Here are the insights found in this podcast episode discussing "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz:

The profound impact of "The Four Agreements": The book was a catalyst for personal awakening for the hosts, particularly due to its simple yet profound teachings contrasted with more complex spiritual texts.
Historical context and relevance: The book's insights were revisited, highlighting its enduring relevance and the different ways it resonates at various points in one’s life. The hosts discuss the historical and cultural significance of the book, connecting it to modern psychology and spirituality.
Concept of "The Dream": The book's concept of living within a "dream" shaped by societal agreements is explored, emphasizing how these influence our perceptions and behaviors. This dream acts like a fog, obscuring true perception and keeping individuals in a state of fear and conformity.
Personal reflections on spiritual journeys: Personal anecdotes from the hosts' own spiritual journeys provided, comparing their initial complex spiritual readings with the straightforward teachings of "The Four Agreements."
Domestication and the Book of Law: The podcast delves into how individuals are conditioned from a young age to adopt the beliefs and behaviors of their society, which Ruiz terms 'domestication'. This leads to the internalization of a 'Book of Law' that dictates their self-limiting beliefs.
Role of the Judge and the Victim: The internal dynamics of self-judgment and victimhood are discussed, exploring how these roles perpetuate personal suffering and limit personal freedom.
    The Four Agreements:

Be impeccable with your word: Discusses the power of words to shape reality and stresses the importance of using speech responsibly.
Don't take anything personally: The hosts reflect on the liberation found in realizing that other people's actions and words are dictated by their own beliefs and experiences, not yours.
Don't make assumptions: The potential for misunderstandings and unnecessary suffering that comes from making assumptions about others' thoughts or actions is covered.
Always do your best: Emphasizes that one's "best" varies from moment to moment, and maintaining this effort ensures less regret and self-judgment.

Transformation through new agreements: The discussion also covers how adopting these new agreements can lead to profound personal change and freedom, helping individuals escape from old patterns that create suffering.

These insights offer a comprehensive overview of how the teachings of "The Four Agreements" can be applied to personal growth and spiritual understanding.

724 - Mastering Your Energy: The Power of an Energy Audit

724 - Mastering Your Energy: The Power of an Energy Audit

In this episode, I share the story of how I recently rediscovered my energy sweet spot for my early morning routine. This immediately reminded me that it's been far too long since I've personally conducted an "Energy Audit."

The Energy Audit Exercise allows you to evaluate the people, places/environments, things, habits/behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs that either fill you with energy or drain your energy. It is a powerful tool that you can use to gain insights into your own energy levels.

Instructions For Doing An Energy Audit.

Create a document with two columns.

Column 1 = “What FILLS Me With Energy.”
Column 2 = “What DRAINS Me of Energy”

Make a list of all the people, places, things, habits and thoughts that fill you with energy and then a list of those that drain you of your energy.
Pick one energy-draining item and write it down.
Consider why you do this energy-draining thing and what benefits it provides.
Finally, decide how you could either remove this item from your life to stop the energy drain, or alter it in some way so that it switches to energizing you instead of draining you.
     Repeat steps 3-5.

Going through this process for multiple energy-drains will create an audit that shows you how to maximize your personal energy.

    723 - Navigating Technological Change

    723 - Navigating Technological Change

In this episode, I share my thoughts on a fascinating topic that reflects our ever-evolving relationship with technology. Here's what you can expect.

I explore the cyclical nature of our desires—how every 18 to 24 months, the allure of new technology, like the latest iPhone for example, captures our full attention. Yet, the excitement for the new quickly fades as it becomes the familiar.

    Key Insights & Takeaways:

The Irony of Desire: We often find ourselves caught in a loop of anticipation for the latest tech, only for our excitement to wane once it becomes part of our everyday lives.
Technology's Transient Thrill: The initial joy of new technology is profound, yet this satisfaction is surprisingly fleeting as the 'perfect tech' soon shows signs of imperfection or change.
Gratitude for Technological Marvels: Despite our criticisms, I believe there is a need for an underlying appreciation for the miraculous capabilities of modern technology that connects us globally in real-time.

Join me as we navigate these thoughts, inspired by a simple yet profound interaction on social media. It's a reminder of how interconnected our lives are, thanks to these technological marvels, and a reflection on how we perceive and adapt to changes in our digital tools.

This episode is not just a journey through the lifecycle of technology but also a mirror to our behaviors and expectations.

Whether you're tech-savvy or just enjoy a deeper look into everyday phenomena, there's something in this discussion for you.

Special thanks and shout out to my friend, Ian Anderson Gray, for his recent Facebook Post.

As always, I appreciate your tuning in and look forward to your thoughts and reflections. Please send me an email at Cliff@CliffRavenscraft.com and let me know how this episode resonated with you.

Inspirational

Cliff Ravenscraft is truly inspirational. I seem to be improving my mindset every time I listen.

Tone down the ego

Listened to just a handful of episodes and in each one, Cliff just couldn’t help himself by boosting his own ego and making others feel less than. It would probably be a good podcast otherwise, but it’s impossible to get over his superiority, it’s too bad.

Frydaho ,

Not that mindset!

I don’t know much about Cliff himself, but I’m always interested in hearing the mindsets of other successful people! Hearing about the gold in the lives of others can be a source of great inspiration… so long as we’re focusing on gold!

That said, the first episode I listened to was a successful-sounding gal who’s story was that she was “the single mom who made it against all odds”. Fantastic! How wonderful that a woman who (in my mind) had her husband walk out on her was successful anyway.

As the interview goes on, the story starts to fade from a story of success into a story of ongoing and seemingly-planned tragedy.

She starts talking about how she would have had found the man of her dreams to have 10 kids with (Yay!! Fantastic!!) and would have worked, building her dreams while she did it (I mean, I guess the “man of her dreams” would stay home with those poor kids, and everyone would miss mom, but okay… that could still be great success).

Then she starts talking about how she wants more NOW (wait … the single mom? Maybe she got married…) and that she’s looking into *embryo adoption” (😳🥺😭) and I just couldn’t listen anymore.

You know when you’re hearing some story about how innocent people are being carved up with machetes during a civil war in a remote part of the world, and a dad is found dead on top of his kids, after having tried to shield them from a murderous attacker, but was unsuccessful? It was like that, but completely avoidable.

This is success? More kids who don’t know who their parents are, growing up without parents, so you can “have more kids”? I’m all about success, but I don’t think that success and selfishness belong in the same sentence (unless you’re telling people they don’t belong in the same sentence).

I pray for the poor children who have to live this way, and I pray for their mother!! May she see that the world already has enough parentless kids, and there are orphans (see war reference above) who need her love. May her eyes be opened that she can truly see what a family is and who her children are to her, and may she see and feel — with her whole heart — their need to have a loving mother to care for their every need. 💔
