Your podcast needs audience/listeners. You can't achieve this unless you have a proper distribution mechanism along with marketing & promotion strategy. Though your podcast host will take care of the distribution to many podcast apps, manual effort is still needed to distribute it to a few like apple, google, etc.  The process is pretty straight forward but may take a few days before your podcasts start appearing on all major podcast services/apps. 

At the same time, a proper social media promotion strategy needs to be considered. The only way to gain more audience and reach your niche-based-listeners, you need to submit podcast links to social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, etc. 

In this podcast, I have covered the basics which is more than sufficient to kick-start your distribution & promotion requirements. Nonetheless, some efforts need to be put in initially and if done carefully, it will reap benefits in the longer run.

In this episode, I will be talking about the importance of selecting appropriate Niche and contents based on this niche.  Niche is related to a specific interest or product that appeals to the target audience that is interested to know about such niche subjects.  Deciding niche forms the base of your podcast channel and a good amount of thought should go behind selecting it. Introspect and understand what are you good at and speaking about which topic will bring value to add to your listeners. Once a niche is decided, it will be pretty easy to select topics for your content. It is not necessary to script the entire podcast; rather you can jot down notes on major points that you will be talking about. Also decide on the subject transitioning, i.e., subject sequencing and how you are going to transition to the next subject in the same content. 

I always advise not to mix contrasting niches in the same podcast channel as it may disrupt the audience's attention.  Sometimes, it may even result in listeners leaving your channel as they are now listening to off-record topics that they were not expecting.
