How do you identify the difference between our Strategic Self and True Self?
By speaking up, telling the truth, and embracing conflict!
In his book, "Getting To Zero", Jayson Gaddis gives us a playbook on how to start embodying our True Self and resolving our inner conflict that affects each and every one of us.
For example, my Strategic Self might value what you, and others, think of me. And my True Self values me being true to myself, even if it means you reject me. If you're a conflict avoider, you probably value keeping the peace and not expressing yourself in certain scenarios. But this strategy keeps you disconnected from your True Self and over time affects what you value; surprisingly, it impacts the direction you go in life as well as how you show up in your high-stakes relationships.

The first thing we do when we enter the world as newborns is inhale with our 1st breath, and the last thing we do before we die is exhale with our last breath, yet so many of us don't have a relationship with the one thing that gives us and sustains our life, our breath!

#129: Obesity - The Real Epidemic
42% of U.S adults are considered obese, per the CDC!
Are you kidding me! That’s almost 1 out of every 2 adults!
Obesity kills around 500,000 people every year in the U.S and kills more Americans than smoking.
Obesity isn’t just killing millions of people. It’s also giving lots of them Alzheimer’s first.
Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s.
Meaning some of the leading causes of preventable and premature death are all caused by obesity.
Obesity wipes 15 years off your life.
And it’s all preventable!
So, naturally, I ask myself, what am I doing about? How am I being being the change I want to see in the world?

I discovered The Positive Impact podcast in the summer of 2020. I love listening to all kinds of podcasts but Andrews message of hope and inspiration immediately caught my attention and grabbed me by my heartstrings. He speaks with kindness and integrity. He covers so many topics that we all can learn from. Topics like - How to build a healthy mindset ,the value of being of service to others , how to tackle fears, tangible tools for stepping into vulnerability and how to be the change we want to see in the world.
