Why do students have to take standardized tests?
In this class, we talk about some of the standardized tests that students in New York City and New York State take and discuss reasons why people say they are important as well as common criticisms of the tests. We practice thinking critically about our experiences with the tests, how we might reimagine what testing looks like, and the challenges that might be involved in changing the way the testing system works.
