#77 The Business of Happiness, Insights from Wallstreet Entrepreneur and Busch School Professor Luke Burgis

The Gabby Reece Show

My guest today, Luke Burgis, is an entrepreneur, college professor at The Busch School of Business at the Catholic University of America. He worked on Wallstreet and now has a book out titled: Wanting: The Power of Mimetic Desire in Everyday Life. An insight to some of our hardwired competitive nature and how we can be mindful of it in our work and with our neighbors.

Somewhere during Luke's journey of one of his four startups, he wasn't feeling satisfied or experiencing a 'transcendents". Who goes into a competitive business looking for humanity or human ecology?

Luke shares his motivation for putting a modern-day breakdown on the teaching of famed French historian and philosopher Rene Girard in his latest book. I learned a lot and appreciated that there are people like Luke out in the world, working and teaching our young adults. Enjoy
