Hey, I’m Gabe. A wife, mom, writer, runner, and Jesus lover! For years I put my dreams on the shelf thinking I had to sacrifice my own desires for motherhood. I thought I needed to be everything to everyone, but in the process I lost myself. I felt so scattered because I had way too many things on my plate, and I made all the excuses! What I realize now, after hitting a massive goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon, is that my kids need me to pursue my own goals so I can be their best example. In Nehemiah 5 we notice that the Jews become discouraged once again and our struggling to build the wall of Jerusalem. They know the wall is for their own good and protection, but they're struggling to make means meet in the meantime.
They're mortgaging their fields and even selling their kids to slavery to pay the debts they owed. The poor were being oppressed and charged exorbitant amounts o interest, which was, mind you, forbidden by the law of that time. This led to more disappointment for the Jews, and many were ready to give up.
So what did Nehemiah do?
He spoke truth
He took responsibility
He made things right
He blessed others with his wealth

I absolutely LOVE this podcast! Such insightful and helpful tips and tools - but also very biblical WISDOM. I recently heard that being a genius doesn’t mean you have wisdom. And how true that is especially in the business, high-achieving world. It’s easy to do things the world’s way by default, but I just so appreciate how Gabe is not afraid of doing things unconventionally - and sharing about her genuine reasons why, as well as other God-led tactics for navigating business and pursuing God-led goals. It challenges and inspires you to really dig deep to evaluate your heart, which is the most important thing that God actually cares about. And from it, flows everything else!
