Mystery surrounds the shooting of decorated airman
On May 3, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in an apartment building, and deputies shot Senior Airman Roger Fortson multiple times in the chest, killing the airman. Ben Crump, an attorney representing Fortson's family, told the media that Senior Airman Fortson was alone in his apartment when deputies fatally shot him six times. Levin Papantonio Rafferty attorney Brian Barr is working with Crump and discussed the incident on our show.

UWF Choir links w/National Archives of UK
The University of West Florida Concert Choir from the Dr. Grier Williams School of Music is featured in the National Archives of the United Kingdom’s newest exhibition. “Great Escapes: Remarkable Second World War Captives” will run through July 21 and sheds light on the untold stories of hope, resilience and ingenuity exhibited by prisoners of war and internees during World War II. Dr. Peter Steenbilk explains how the choir’s “Song of Survival” concert is used.View the “Great Escapes: Remarkable Second World War Captives” virtual exhibition tour featuring the UWF Concert Choir’s performance of “The Captives’ Hymn” by Margaret Dryburgh and “Symphony No. 9 (Largo)” by Antonín Dvorák, arr. CourtTV series focuses on King brothers' trials
The Court TV true-crime series “Accomplice to Murder with Vinnie Politan” will feature the sensational trials regarding the murder of Terry King on Sunday, May 12. Court TV lead anchor Vinnie Politan will examine the confessions by teenagers Alex and Derek King that they bludgeoned their father to death and how they were called into question after the family friend who turned the boys in, Ricky Chavis, was revealed to be a pedophile who wanted Alex to himself. Vinnie Politan previews the show with Inweekly publisher Rick Outzen, whose newspaper covered the trials.

Cox Inspirational Student Hero Awards
Cox Communications and the Escambia County Council of PTAs/PTSAs recognized 53 special students in Escambia County. The Cox Inspirational Student Hero Awards and ECCPTAs’ Student of the Year ceremony were held on Monday, May 6th at 4:00 p.m. at the University of West Florida.
