Conservatively Speaking

Lucid & sober discussion on conservatism past, present & future. Guest Suggestion: Condoleeza Rice. I have tremendous respect for her as a person & a conservative - even & especially if ISI differs with her

ISI deserves top marks as one of the best institutions working within the conservative media landscape. Distilling current events with the knowledge of first principles and overtones impressed gives it a level of erudition few can match. Conservative Conversations with ISI captures this will, inviting a broad array of speakers between various disciplines on a regular basis; building a holistic appreciation for conservative thought well. Just about all episodes end with asking invited speakers their definition of conservatism, which is always a great emphasis. I have been a great beneficiary of ISI, both in this form and many others. If you are interested in conservative thought, I highly recommended you add this podcast to your library, and also support/donate to ISI.

Great conversations

I quite enjoy this podcast. The episode lengths are just enough that you feel like you got something out of the conversation but not so so long that it’s hard to get through. My favorite part usually is when they discuss what they have been reading of late and it’s best when the guest is included in that segment as well. My question is about fiction stories and books from some of the great conservative thinkers and writers like Russell Kirk’s ghost stories or Buckley’s Blackford Oakes Novels. I’m a few chapters in to Saving the Queen at the moment. What role does or should fiction play in the conservative movement and what are your conservative fiction recommendations? -Michael Fricker.
