    Appendix 1- Coming Full Circle

The word revolution means coming full circle, so it seems like the best way to begin the end.

Absolutely incredible

I’ve listened to well over a hundred podcasts and this one is by far my favorite. It’s the best history content I’ve ever heard. Incredibly engaging and interesting and also extremely informative. I’ve never learned so much in such a fun and engaging way. Definitely the best history podcast period.

He does an incredible job of presenting the material in a way that gives you a deep understanding of topics that you may have previously thought you knew about.

He also presents things in a very unbiased manner. I’m pretty surprised at the reviews that imply that he gives a political “anti-communist” one sided portrayal of history in his Russian revolution series. I personally thought that was probably his best series and it speaks volumes that my dad (who is quite conservative) and my friend (who is a communist) both absolutely loved it. Of course everyone presents every topic with some amount of bias or opinion but I think he does an incredible job of really giving you all sides of the story and letting you draw your own conclusions. And where he has opinions he tells you what they are so you can understand what is opinion and what isn’t. I am amazed at how complete a picture he is able to paint.

This isn’t to say that he tells a version of history that is neutral and perfectly accurate (because that isn’t possible) but rather that he really does a great job of presenting things from each participant’s viewpoint (and from their opponents’ viewpoint), along with the facts. So you really get to hear each side and then decide for yourself on the interpretation you agree with.

Honestly I think people are just irritated that he isn’t presenting a *more* politicized podcast that argues for their viewpoints. I’m sure that’s true for people on both sides. Anyhow I’m saying this as someone who is quite left leaning in case someone is thinking this is going to be super neoconservative - I really think that everyone will love this podcast if they are actually willing to listen, whether they’re a Trumper, a Warren supporter, a Bernie bro, or even a Trotskyite!

Half way thru the French Revolution. The English and American ones were awesome and I expect the rest will be too! The quality of work on this is astounding.
