Sarah gives an overview of John 11 ( (12:57). She and Sarah discuss highlights from verses 1-44. There are good thoughts and questions to ponder that Sarah and Chandra discuss such as:
Is the miracle the one we want, or does God have something bigger?Do you become discouraged when you know God has the power to do something but He doesn't?Sometimes the people closest to us don't understand the miracle God is performing. Listen with caution and trust God.A delay may be to increase our faith or the faith of others. When we try to control God's timing, we risk eliminating a miracle and taking away glory given to God.

Recap and Reflection - Skip a Sunday of Church

Recap and Reflection - Skip a Sunday of Church

This podcast was created to offer tools and tips to help you rewrite your story personally, professionally, spiritually, or relationally. Our Recap and Reflection are shorter episodes that cover current events, hot topics, and other things that come to mind in our day to day lives.

In this episode, Sarah reflects on how she felt missing church while attending the Daytona 500 with Faith. She shares how she and Faith had God moments on the trip. Here’s a few highlights.

6:30 – Sarah sees a gorgeous sunset and immediately said, “Faith looked what God gave us.” She pointed out God’s beauty to Faith. Such a beautiful gift.
8:00 – Faith asks to listen to worship music, specifically worship music on Spotify from their church.
9:00 – Faith recognizes a song about Resurrection Sunday and both Sarah and Faith talk about how they love the Resurrection of Christ.
10:30 – Faith hears a song that causes Faith to question if the lyrics align with scripture. Faith reads her Bible to assure the lyrics of the song are correct.
13:45 – They skipped church, but church didn’t skip them.

Do you feel guilty when you miss church? Are you serving the Lord on autopilot religiously or in relationship with Him? Is it possible to experience God outside of Sunday church while enjoying a vacation or time with family? Stay tuned for the Religion vs Relationship episode as we go deeper.

In this episode, Chandra and Sarah continue their discussion about Jesus + Therapy along with a special guest, Corina Kojack. Corina gives her perspective as a therapist who loves Jesus and welcomes Him into her counseling sessions.

The discussion begins with Corina introducing herself (3:30) and explaining why Jesus plus therapy is important to her (6:15). Don’t miss how Corina “cheats” in her sessions! They continue with Corina addressing challenges and myths about therapy that can make it difficult for Christians to seek professional counseling (8:20).

They also talk about how Christian counseling can be a joint process with believers and the Holy Spirit – leaving room for Jesus to work and heal alongside an equipped counselor (11:00). Corina continues the discussion by giving examples of why a pastor cannot always be the “go to” (12:35) and Chandra shares a healing experience in her own life (16:15). Corina then shares details about the training she has gone through and describes different types of therapy (17:45) which leads Sarah to ask how one might know when to seek out therapy that they are not currently engaged in (21:45).

The episode wraps up with a discussion about “trauma dumping” on friends and family (31:00), how God can take pain and hard places to rewrite our stories to give Him glory (39:30), and Corina addresses using insurance (or not) in mental health care (40:00).
