Thank you for this healing work… I found your podcast on just the right day and will continue to listen and learn and grow…..

Do not be fooled, as I was, into giving hours to these podcasts or into purchasing expensive materials. Following the recent election, the perpetually whiney co-host begins the podcast, sobbing. The election did not go her way and she is literally crying. Somehow, the hosts attempt to weave this into some sort of narrative about exploitation and abuse. As a therapist who works with people who are victims of actual violence and actual abuse, I find this indescribably offensive. Particularly reprehensible is the hosts’ attempts to cram their woke views into the Bible. Pretending to have some value to suffering people, the hosts use this platform as an opportunity to perpetuate myths created by biased media sources. This podcast is a political podcast. Do not be fooled, as I was for a short while, into believing that this podcast or the materials sold by this organization have value in helping hurting people. The Allender Center is directly complicit in the exploitation by one of the -equally harmful- political entities in the United States. Dr. Allender’s books went out with the trash this morning. I am deleting their materials from my computer and canceling all subscriptions. Unless you are of a particular woke variety, you will find nothing of value here. I hope you -wake up- to the intent of these publications quicker than did I.

I have read Dr. Allen’s book and it was very helpful. But this latest episode about Christmas really captures the problem with this podcast. Is there anything that happens in your lives that doesn’t create shame and trauma?
