This week we are delighted to be joined by Dr. Stephen Patterson to discuss one of the biggest developments and trends in rehab over the past few years, blood flow restriction (BFR) training. Many people probably know what BFR is and roughly how to use it, but the uptake and implementation has been slow. Hopefully this podcast will help you understand how and why you should be implementing BFR in your rehabilitation plans and give you the confidence to use it consistently.
Dr. Patterson is an Associate Professor in Applied Exercise Physiology & Performance. He is currently the Director of the Centre for Applied Performance Sciences at St. Mary’s University London. His main research interests include: Blood flow restriction training for rehabilitation and performance, Ischemic Preconditioning, Physiology of team sports.
