Qala is an African Bitcoin organization that trains Bitcoin and Lightning Network engineers while ₿trust exists to decentralise the development of Bitcoin software, this acquisition is part of that mission, to drive the development and education of Bitcoin open-source engineers from across the Global South.
Qala will rebrand as the ₿trust Builders Programme and continue to operate under its current leadership. The program will continue to offer training and support to African Bitcoin developers, with a focus on building the infrastructure and applications needed to make Bitcoin more accessible and useful to people on the continent.
