We all experience seasons in life and business. I'm currently experiencing one myself so it's the perfect time to talk about how to manage this, in terms of time and your brain.
In this episode I'm sharing about my own current "season" in business and why I've had to let some things go or push other things down on my priority list.

60. What Made 2020 Successful For Independent Retailers
Episode 13 of the Savvy Shopkeeper Retail Podcast, "What Made 2019 Successful for Independent Retailers", is one of the most downloaded episodes of this podcast. I understand why. It helps to know WHAT IS contributes to the success of other independent retailers.
No one expected or could have predicted 2020, right? What a year.
Independent Retailers did some incredible things to get through 2020.
If you go back and listen to episode 13, you’ll hear things that not many retailers, if any, could have used to succeed in 2020 - like in-person events. Do you miss these too? (sigh)
Just like for episode 13, I asked group members in our communities what helped them succeed but this time I asked them what helped them succeed during a pandemic YEAR and I'm sharing what I learned.
Show notes on the Savvy Shopkeeper website are coming soon.

Retail is serious business
My favorite thing about Kathy is that she treats small retail with the seriousness it deserves. She teaches the financial and business aspects that often get overlooked in, especially in a predominantly female industry. So many coaches in this space don’t give women business owners the respect we deserve, including the women coaches.
I love that Kathy fully expects us to know the business of our businesses and doesn’t give us a pass on *any* of it. But at the same time, she’s full of compassion , respect, and love for her fellow shopkeepers.
If you’re not in one of her communities, I highly recommend joining. You won’t regret it!
Kathy Rides Shotgun
What a great carpool buddy! Although I’ve never met her in person, Kathy and the Savvy Shopkeeper podcast ride to the shop with me each week. Kathy has become a great resource for me in building my retail business. All this time I thought I was the only one with all these retail questions! I would have loved to have had all this information at my fingertips when I first bought my business 8 years ago. I’ve been a Master Shopkeeper for a year now and it is worth every penny! Retail ownership can be a very lonely job at times and this group is a wonderful group sounding board, and wealth of valuable knowledge and mentorship. This past year would’ve been so much harder without these comrades!
A binge listen!
I just started listening a few days ago and I’ve binged half the episodes already! So many tips for indie shopkeepers that you can’t find anywhere else.
