Stress, anxiety, and overwhelm are incredibly time-consuming. As we agonize over the whys and hows of the things happening in our lives, it simply takes a tremendous amount of time. I like to say, “It takes more time to be stressed out than blessed out.”

I suffered from debilitating panic attacks and anxiety, and the “medication” did nothing to prevent the panic attacks from happening. After years of anxiety, I began to think about not being alive anymore – I just couldn’t take it. It was time for a change.

I discovered meditation and began consuming all the information I could about self-guidance and tapping into the higher self.

Now, I know it's my soul’s purpose to teach people how to follow their own internal guidance system. I refer to this as Inspired Thinking. It’s like critical thinking, except you use your heart and your internal guidance system to help you determine the next optimal step for you in any given situation you can find yourself in.

There are 3 main benefits to following your own internal guidance system:
1. Your panic attacks, stress, anxiety or overwhelm – become virtually non-existent, they fade, and eventually disappear.
2. You enjoy feeling in balance as you move through your work and through your life
3. You begin to Have, Be or Do anything and everything that you’ve ever wanted.

We all know what a “Red Flag Warning” is, right? It’s the absolute knowing that you should stop and run, not walk, to the nearest exit, right? My question became, why wait?
Why wait until the universe is screaming at us to help us?
Would it be possible to tune into the part of you that is there already, waiting and eager to guide you, loving you and caring for you, delighted by you?

You don’t have to earn it or be worthy, it’s there, right now, at this moment, and it’s available to everyone.

Can you imagine a life with little to no anxiety, stress, no overwhelm, and the peace and calm of feeling work-life balance for the first time, and then an explosion of excitement as one thing after another line up in your life and carries you towards your soul’s purpose?

    In this episode, I focus on  the concept of finding and maintaining a flow state to enhance productivity and joy in both work and personal life. I emphasize the benefits of being in the flow state, including increased creativity, efficiency, and a profound sense of accomplishment.
     
     1.     Distractions and Flow:
     Constant distractions from notifications and emails hinder our ability to stay in the flow.  Danette shares personal experiences of working uninterrupted and the improvements in efficiency and creativity she noticed.
     2.     Getting into the Flow:
     Preparation is key: Turn off notifications, allocate specific blocks of time, and set up an environment conducive to deep work.  Leveraging peak productivity hours is crucial. Danette suggests having two main flow sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
     3.     Benefits of Flow:
     Working in a flow state allows for higher-level thinking, creativity, and efficiency.
    It provides a strong sense of accomplishment, which is often missing in a distraction-filled workday.
     4.     Recovery and Balance:
     It is essential to recover fully after periods of intense focus. Danette highlights the importance of taking breaks, meditating, and spending time in nature to recuperate.
    Balancing work and recovery helps maintain overall well-being and prevents burnout.
     5.     Practical Tips:
     Turn off all notifications during focus periods.
    Schedule your most important tasks during your peak productivity hours.
    Ensure you get a good night's sleep and prepare the day before for a productive work session.  Take regular breaks and protect your recovery time as much as you protect your focus time.
     
    I encourage you to be conscious of your work habits and to strive for periods of deep, uninterrupted focus to enhance productivity and satisfaction in your work. I find that while working in a flow state is highly beneficial, it is equally important to take time for recovery and self-care.

    I'm excited to share with you five quick and effective stress-busting techniques that you can use in high-pressure situations. Drawing from my recent experience of giving a public speech to colleagues, I explore how stress, particularly in demanding scenarios like public speaking, affects us all.
     
    Focused Breathing: I begin with two breathing exercises - a six-count breath and box breathing. I found these techniques incredibly helpful in calming myself before my speech. They reintroduce oxygen to the system, slow down the heart rate, and help regain focus.
     
    Sensory Grounding: Next, I discuss 'sensory grounding' as a method to bring ourselves back to the present by engaging our senses. I explain how focusing on immediate sensory experiences can help divert attention from stress-inducing thoughts about the past or future.
     
    Positive Intentions and Affirmations: The third technique I share is setting positive intentions and using affirmations. I emphasize the power of the words "I am" and the importance of following them with positive, empowering statements to control and redirect our thoughts.
     
    Mental Gratitude Checklist: I then talk about the benefits of a mental gratitude checklist. Reflecting on things I am grateful for helped me shift my focus from anxiety about future events to the positive aspects of my life.
     
    Visualization: Finally, I suggest visualization, where we imagine being in a happy, calming place. I share my experience of visualizing my favorite hiking spot, illustrating how this practice can mentally transport us to a serene state.
     
    I conclude the episode by reminding you of the importance of stress as a signal for problem-solving and encourage you to share your own stress-reduction techniques. This episode is a blend of personal anecdotes and practical advice, aimed at empowering you with quick, effective methods to manage stress in challenging situations.

What a relief!

I’m so glad to hear a show that has the carefully paced power to take me from high anxiety to calm and cool. I find myself smiling, breathing deeply, and nodding agreeably as I ponder Danette’s stories and perspectives. When I’m feeling tense, this is where I’ll turn- so happy to have found a business-minded woman who takes intuition seriously and helps us use it the way it was meant!
