Episode 133 - When the Thought Doesn't Matter (and Why)

Episode 133 - When the Thought Doesn't Matter (and Why)

Did you know that sometimes it does not matter what we are thinking? I know this is shocking coming from a life coach who teaches people every day that what you are thinking is everything and that your life is a result of your thoughts. However, there is a scenario where focusing on the thought can get you pretty stuck and I’m here to teach you about it and to give you permission to not worry about what you are thinking about sometimes. Enjoy!

Episode 132 - Indulgence and Validation

Episode 132 - Indulgence and Validation

We can all benefit from giving ourselves more validation and this is something I work with my clients on a lot. My favorite way to teach this concept is to teach them a two step process of first validating our own experience/feelings and then to follow it up with reassuring ourselves. It is so powerful! One common problem with this is when I encourage people to validate themselves, they can resist the concept because they are confusing it with indulging themselves. Listen to this episode to hear more about my highly impactful two step process and to really understand the critical difference between giving yourself validation and indulging yourself. Enjoy!

    Episode 131 - Ownership

    Episode 131 - Ownership

There are many ways to think about the word ownership, but in this episode I'm referring to taking ownership or responsibility for the parts of your life that are in your control and that are your creation. There are a few sneaky traps that we can fall into in this area where we accidentally categorize things that are in our control as out of our control. Also, we may not realize when we are not owning something in our lives that is our fault or our doing and when we make that shift to ownership we get unstuck in that area. In this episode you are going to learn how to ask questions like: "In what ways is this my fault?" and "How is it being my fault good news?" Remember that we are not taking ownership or accepting fault for things that are other people's responsibility (another sneaky trap), just our own. Enjoy!

    Episode 129 - Obsessed

    Episode 129 - Obsessed

Do you remember being young and in love? Do you remember what it felt like to be so into someone that you may have even been a little obsessed? Now full on actual obsession is not necessarily healthy, but what I'm talking about in this episode is how to add a dose of obsession to things in your life that are important to you and you want to think about more and feel more strongly about like yourself, your spouse, your life, your kids, your responsibilities, your choices, your future.  You guys! I'm obsessed! Enjoy!

Podcast for deployment and SO much more!

I discovered Simply Resilient podcasts in the midst of my boyfriend’s year-long deployment. I was in survival mode mentally and emotionally and Jessie’s coaching via the podcast put words to the experiences I was having. It was so validating and relieved the sense of isolation I was feeling. Furthermore, the mind management strategies she shares in her podcasts are simple and actionable - exactly what I needed when I felt I couldn’t do anything about my circumstances!

Post-deployment, this podcast and Jessie’s coaching have been instrumental in reframing my circumstances and reducing the unnecessary drama! My boyfriend and my reintegration went so much smoother than I could have hoped due to the strategies I was practicing. I believe it has even helped prepare me to better manage my mind for shorter-term absences due to training, etc.

I highly recommend this podcast for anyone struggling with deployment, reintegration, military life, or the day-to-day highs and lows of being human!
