There's a lot of talk about what the best method to fuel your two stroke dirt bike is. You may think that the natural progression is for all combustion engines to move toward fuel injection but then why is KTM reverting back to throttle body injection? In this episode of the WannaBes Mobcast we talk with Corey Dyess from SmartCarb to explore this topic and learn more about what the future of fueling systems might look like for two stroke and four stroke motorcycles. Admittadly my intuition going into this conversation was that carburetors were a thing of the past but after talking to Corey about what the SmartCarb can offer, I can now say I definately think different. This comes in two parts since one of our bikes, a 2006 KTM 300 xcw, is running the SmartCarb and we have had nothing but great experiences with it. Not only do you not have to worry about jetting your bike for elevation but the carb doesn't flood, or leak when you tip over. You also get more overall power out of the bike due to the finer fuel attomization and there are no flat spots in the power ban because the SmartCarb doesn't have jets. If all of this sounds interesting to you than you should watch this full episode. Corey dives into detail about the technical aspects of the SmartCarb and how if functions so hang on to your asses because this conversation will blow you away.
