    Reflections of God's Goodness

#38: In a few days, I will be celebrating my birthday on September 30th. If you’ve been listening to this podcast for at least a month you know every month I do a reflection of the previous month on what supported me body, soul and spirit.  Instead of doing a monthly reflection in October, I thought I would do something a little different and share 53 ways I’ve seen God show up in my life. Why 53 you ask? Well because that is how old I will be.  I’ve seen a few things over my 53 years and I’ve been a follower of Jesus longer than I have not. I thought this episode might inspire you especially if you are a new follower of Jesus or maybe you’re in a place like I was many years ago questioning if God even exists. Let's go to the show. Resources: The Beauty In Letting Go by Angee Wiser RobertsonEp. 29 - Two Way Communication with God - Gift of TonguesGrace Over Grind by Shae Bynes Heavenly Position Guidance Challenge: For this week’s Heavenly Position System Challenge, take out your journal and find a quiet place if possible. I want to encourage you to capture ways you’ve seen God show up in your life. I was recently leading a small group at our church and someone in the group said they don’t like to journal. A few of us in the group shared it is a great way to see what God has done in your life even if you just jot down a few words it is so worth it. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Your Vocation Is Not Your Identity

#37: You know how you go to a social gathering and you’re meeting someone you’ve never met before and they ask, “so what do you do?” The general reply is that I am dot, dot, dot you fill in the blank. The thing is the person is asking us “what do you DO” and we respond, “I AM.” It would seem that we wrap our identity in our vocation and rightly so I mean we spend the majority of our time at some type of work. On this episode we are going to explore how we are not our vocation. Let's go to the show. Key Take-aways: 2:05 - introduction to vocation3:45 - how vocation has been a chew toy for me5:45 - God is our source6:38 - serving God vs. serving people6:55 - being good at something doesn't mean you have to do it forever7:15 - an example of removing something I counted as a source in exchange for God as my source10:00 - God uses everything in our lives10:20 - when your vocation is taken away11:30 - being vs doing13:36 - wrap up Resources: Mary Marantz Instagram PostLoop for Women by Jennifer CampThe Next Right Thing PodcastSpirit Led Life GearThe Beauty In Letting Go by Angee Wiser Robertson Heavenly Position Guidance Challenge: For this week’s Heavenly Position System Challenge, I’m going to challenge you to do the same. Take out your journal and find a quiet place if possible. Read Ephesians chapters 1 - 2 and then write down everything those chapters say that you are. There is no right or wrong here. I would challenge you to take 30 minutes for this exercise so you can marinate on what you are reading. Ask Holy Spirit to point out to you how God sees you in these verses. August Reflections for Body, Soul & Spirit

#35: On today’s episode, I’m going to do an August recap of what has been supporting me in my body, soul and spirit. The month of August has been pretty backed. Between doing a 14 day social media fast and going on vacation, I have lots to share. Today I'll share how I moved in the flow with the Holy Spirit rather than forcing an agenda on our vacation. A question that stopped me and made me pause and have deep consideration. How taking a mental picture can sometimes be enough. Let's go to the show.
