As Jesus rides into Jerusalem he fulfills Old Testament prophecies that show He is the Messiah.
In this He demonstrates His meekness and that He is pure in Heart (singularly devoted to God). Are we living the same way?

Cultivating the values in the Beatitudes make us salt and light to the world around us. As messengers of God's Kingdom we have a preserving effect (salt) to the world around us. And our good deeds illuminate (shine a light) on God's Kingdom.

In the Beatitudes, Jesus gives a counter-cultural message- to mourn over our sins, to hunger and thirst for righteousness, to be poor in spirit.
He wants to fill us with more of His Spirit, we just need to recognize our need and ask Him.

We live in the tension that the Kingdom of God is here, but not fully here yet.
In that tension, we want to have faith for God to move in powerful ways now. We also want to trust in His goodness regardless of our current circumstances.
