    34. Deanna Kuempel on Finding the Courage to Start Over

    Deanna Kuempel’s story is one of struggle, determination, fortitude, faith – and fashion.
    Born & raised in the Chicagoland area and she studied Business & Accounting at
    Harper College. She went on to become an entrepreneur, simultaneously running 4
    different businesses and closing multi-million dollar contracts.
    In 2013, Deanna’s best friend and husband Richard became critically ill, and they set out on
    a very difficult battle with his health… one that was all too soon lost. Following open heart
    surgery and in need of a kidney transplant, Deanna dedicated herself to caring for her
    husband. Serving as a caregiver in those final days of Richard’s life was a true awakening
    for Deanna. In an instant, she realized the preciousness of this one life we are given, and
    that we all must live out our legend.
    After Richard died, Deanna was forced to start over. She always had a passion for
    fashion and in 2017, embraced the mantra be yourself – be fierce – be fashion by
    launching the Deanna Marie Label. She designed, produced and launched 3 collections
    over the course of a few years and was named a finalist for Style Chicago’s Design
    Challenge Presented by Cadillac.
    In 2019 Deanna read an article on how to start a podcast and just decided to go for it.
    Having overcome much abuse & trauma she decided on the name Label Free. Label
    Free Podcast, a show that highlights stories of people breaking free of the confines of societal
    labels to live a life that is truly fulfilling.

    32. The Empowered Woman’s Toolbox

    As women, we can do hard things, and we are stronger than we know. But at some point every
    woman needs a few tools in her toolbox when it comes to managing the challenges life throws
    our way. As a highly sensitive woman, these tools have helped me to adapt and overcome
    every challenging situation that has come my way. Something doesn’t go my way, I have an
    argument with my man, my energy levels are challenged, I’m having hot flashes…whatever it is,
    I have leaned on these tools time and time again to get me through and to help me live my
    beautiful life.
    Have a stressful day? Instead of reaching for a glass of wine, try meditating, taking a walk in
    nature or calling a friend…. Angry at your spouse? Instead of fuming and acting in destructive
    ways, try Elegant Acceptance, EFT (tapping), breathwork or putting on some kick-ass music and
    moving your body to work through it! Feeling overwhelmed and anxious? Meditation, yoga,
    calming music, and breathwork can help.
    These are the tools that have kept me grounded, feeling connected to myself, and fuel me to
    live my best each day. Over the years I’ve added to this list and, after talking with so many
    women and sharing many of these, I wanted to share them with you in hopes they can help to
    empower you to get through any situation that may come up.

    long way to leading a productive and happy life.

    Accessories are the fun part of your wardrobe and the icing on the cake.  They’re where
    you really get to have fun with a look and inject a bit of your own personality into the
    mix.  But more than just a fun way to highlight your look, accessories are IMPORTANT. 
    They provide the finishing touch to an outfit. Much like the punctuation mark at the end
    of a sentence, they help set the tone.  Best of all, they can transform an outfit from
    casual to dressy and back at the drop of a hat (literally!). 
    Sadly, many women tell me they don’t know HOW to wear accessories, so they default
    to wearing the same basic pieces day in and day out, missing opportunities to uplevel
    their look and express their personal style.

    30. How to Mask a Muffin Top

    The muffin top, or extra skin around your midriff that spills out of your waistband in an
    unattractive fashion is just a fact of life for those of us who have given birth, lost or
    gained weight or just are experiencing the changes our body brings with age. So suffice
    it to say that if you have a muffin top, you are indeed in the majority.
    But as common as muffin tops are, dressing to hide one can be a bit of a challenge.
    Often what we find in stores is fitted clothing that looks great if you have zero percent
    body fat, but if you have even an extra pound on your frame you may not want to wear
    such show-everything clothing.
    Here are my top 5 suggestions to mask your muffin top and and look fabulous:
    1/ Draw the Eye Upward
    Let’s put the focus on your face! Wear colors, jewelry and accessories that bring light to
    your face and help you to look fabulous. No one will even notice your muffin top and
    your confidence will soar.
    2/ Wear Clothes that Fit
    It might seem like a no-brainer, but nothing adds to a muffin top more than ill-fitting
    pants or a shirt that is too tight. Be sure you’re wearing pants that have the right rise
    with a waistband that hits you at the right place, and that your shirts aren’t bursting at
    the seams. You also want to steer clear of anything that is big and baggy. Hiding
    behind clothing that is too big for you is also a recipe for disaster!
    3/ Tops with Strategic Placement
    When you want to hide a little jiggle around the middle, wear a cute top that offers
    forgiveness. This can come in one of three forms:
    1. A Bubble Hem – A bubble hem offers a little extra ease allowing the fabric to
    gently skim the body and be more flattering. Bonus points if it’s longer in back.
    2. Do a Half-Tuck – simply by doing a half-tuck, you break up the horizontal line and
    create a little extra ease.
    3. Front tie at hemline – Tops that have a front tie at hemline cleverly camouflage a
    muffin top and create a sleek, chic look.
    4/ Layer it Up - Sometimes just adding a third layer can cover up lumps, bumps and
    bulges that keep you from feeling confident. But instead of piling on something hot and
    heavy, opt for a long, lean cardigan or jacket that gently skims your body and leaves
    you looking tres chic! You could also layer a long sleeveless vest over a top or blouse to
    create the same effect.
    5/ Avoid Clingy Fabrics
    Wearing tops in fabrics like lightweight knits can often cling to your rolls, amplifying
    them rather than camouflaging them. Opt for fabrics that have a little ‘substance’ to
    avoid drawing attention to your problem areas.
