Helpful Ways to Cope with Helplessness | Challenging Limiting Beliefs and Harnessing Inner Alignment

We've all at some point experienced a sense of helplessness.Whether it was a result of our sense of our own ability to perform or to execute, or if it was being faced with a situation that seems beyond our ability to cope. We're never as helpless as we think. Helplessness can be learned through the limiting beliefs we have about ourselves and how the world operates. Whether it was us, a trusted friend, or a family member that confined us to a box, and though miserable, we've made due.In other cases, helplessness can be how we feel about the situations, people, places and circumstances that are truly beyond our realm of control. We feel helpless because our focus is on the outcome, rather than our response and our reaction, and the ways that we can authentically inform that outcome, and find peace with how things turn out.In all cases, there are better ways of managing helplessness than allowing ourselves to feel crippled by worry, anxiety, and fear.Sometimes it's simply a matter of perspective

How to Avoid an Identity Crisis by Reframing Your Sense of Self | Finding Growth in Life Transitions

Not every moment is created equal.

All to say, we can expect that pivotal moments will both challenge and inform our evolving sense of self, often in unexpected ways.

Sometimes the only thing that is painfully clear, is that we aren't, and no longer identify with who we once were. Oftentimes dubbed the "identity crisis" that involves going out of your way to find experiences that will enable you to figure out what you now identify with, or what parts of yourself you can still identify with.

This can be especially upsetting when this sense of uncertainty because apparent without you realizing it. While navigating the demands of life, some of us lost sight not just of who we are now, but also who we were, then.

Life transitions, the people, places, and situations that signal obvious change - provide a great opportunity get re-acquainted with yourself.

Extract the Value from Diversity | How Differences in our Problem Solving Abilities Change the Game

Extract the Value from Diversity | How Differences in our Problem Solving Abilities Change the Game

Extract the Value from Diversity | How Differences in our Problem Solving Abilities Change the Game

All of us have a quirk, belief, or interest that makes us different. Oftentimes we spend so much time minimizing the differences that we have from one another, trying to blend in - that we lose sight of our own uniqueness.

We hear the word diversity and we immediately think, "other." We assume that diversity is meant to describe a very specific group of people, rather than recognizing that diversity describes the differences in our experiences, thoughts, beliefs, expertise, and problem-solving toolkit.

The diversity that really stands to drive disruption and transformation, is typically what lies beneath the surface and is more than what meets the eye.

It happens to exist in each of us. This capacity to be different and to recognize our difference as our value contribution. So the next time you hear a conversation around diversity, know that they could be talking about you.

Seeing the Value in What Sets Us Apart | Why Develop the Skill to Build Connections on Differences?

Seeing the Value in What Sets Us Apart | Why Develop the Skill to Build Connections on Differences?

Seeing the Value in What Sets Us Apart | Why Develop the Skill to Build Connections on Differences?

Many of us learned at a young age to be wary of what and whom, was different.

While the differences that we were cautioned about will differ based on our lived experiences, the outcome is the same. We've learned to fear what is foreign to us. Which often translates as fearing what stands to contradict, or place a spotlight, on some of the limiting beliefs we carry.

Our beliefs are the gateway to our potential. Whether we're talking about our beliefs about ourselves or our beliefs about the people around us - learning to be comfortable with difference, enables you to dissect the differences between our beliefs and those of others, making the required shift and changes that enable our personal grown and evolution.

While many market the value of difference as being great for others - I'm here to explain how valuing difference is actually beneficial for you.

Learning to Quiet Intrusive Thoughts | How to Reclaim Power Knowing that You are Not Your Thoughts

Learning to Quiet Intrusive Thoughts | How to Reclaim Power Knowing that You are Not Your Thoughts

Maybe people don't recognize the distance that exists between them and the thoughts they entertain.

We judge and criticize ourselves for thoughts that we know are not welcomed. Truth is, unless we're consciously following a stream of thinking, thoughts reserve the right to just pop into our heads. Exercising our will is required to determine which thoughts we entertain, and which thoughts we dismiss.

If the thought does not serve you - you have the ability to dismiss it. You can create different strategies that enable you to retrain your mind to focus and attract thoughts that enable you, and empower you, while doing away with the thoughts that torment you and cripple you.

Join the discussion on cultivating the discipline to manage intrusive thinking.
