Talking Simpsons

Old review “ Decent podcast, This is a very good podcast! I like how there is not much profanity but I wish that Matt and Robbie would spend time talking about the GOOD parts of The Simpsons and not always the bad parts! I have been listening to this podcast a lot more because The Simpsons Show (once my favorite) has become the podcast I listen to when I can’t think of anything else to listen to because the hosts rarely talk about the (many) good parts of The Simpsons😢. Anyway, this podcast is good compared to the Simpsons Show. I still stand by my statement about how this podcast has a lot of profanity!

I once listened to a Simpsons podcast a few years ago and all they did was summarize the episode and play audio of the funny moments and the hosts laughed. Each episode was 20 minutes long, or rather as long as an actual Simpsons episode. Terrible podcast. Well this podcast is completely different. A episode by episode analysis that goes in depth. From details in jokes and references to background information on show writers and episode creation and air date, this podcast has love for the Simpsons. And all this is what I actually wanted to hear from a Simpsons podcast. So why did I rate it 1 star? Well they probably have lots of 5 stars but they are not a perfect podcast. First the hosts are annoying when they get political because they try to act like they are leftist but they are actually urban liberals, probably never volunteered for anything in their lives. But the thing most annoying is that the hosts are boomers. They grew up watching the Simpsons from the beginning so they are totally anti-“golden age” seasons (think anything beyond season 8). The bashing is ridiculous and just biased. The hosts also attack the show when it comes to story continuity even though the show itself has not only stated that episodes basically restarts but the show even points fun at that (think of the two Homer scenes).

An incredibly well researched show. Appreciate that the structure allows them to bounce back and forth from golden era episodes to more recent eps.
