#30 Gnar Country: Growing Old, Staying Rad

Steven Kotler is a New York Times bestselling author, an award-winning journalist, a flow researcher, and the Executive Director of the Flow Research Collective who joined us for our 30th episode (and start of Techonomics Season 3) to discuss his new book, Gnar Country: Growing Old, Staying Rad. Steven has numerous other books like The Rise of Superman, The Art of the Impossible, and Stealing Fire that encompass Steven's work in flow and high performance.

This is a special episode for Arun and I, not just because we love skiing and trying to find our own peak flow states, but because when we first met Arun recommended the book The Rise of Superman -- that catalyzed our friendship and Techonomics would not be where it is today as a result.

Big thanks to Steven for coming on the podcast. We know you'll enjoy.

Great Show!

Arun and Jake are my favorite tech podcasters, I always learn a thing or two while still being entertained. Before they even start talking I know they will have an engaging guest with a well thought out topic. Every time I listen I am reminded why I look forward to each months episode.

Great podcast covering bleeding edge in tech

This podcast is a treat for technology focussed listeners. Arun and Jake don’t shy away from digging deep into the tech, even on topics outside their breadth of interests while managing to keep the tone conversational and curious.

My top tech podcast (and I listen to quite a few!)

I spent the weekend listening to 20VC, All In, How I Built This…and none of them, in my mind, compare to Techonomics! Yes, they’re all great and have narrative arches and tech-themes they focus on, but in my book Techonomcis blends storytelling with a deep understanding of a tech space. For instance, I didn’t consider someone particularly excited about self-driving, and as soon as I turned on this episode I was hooked. Cannot recommend enough.
