Ten Things I Hate About... An Outlander Podcast

I love book Roger and Bree. I don’t share the level of dislike that y’all do for the TV version but they both pale in comparison to be sure. Moving forward, in the book I loved their story line so we will see what TV does with it. Anyway, I’m perplexed by how the show can have only 1 more season when the books are probably 5 years from completion.

With all due respect, truly, what evidence is there that Claire is an atheist? Just because she's a doctor and focuses on science?? Have you read the books? She's incredibly spiritual and dialed into religions, understands them and searches for her own definitions. She often practices Catholicism. But as far as I know it's never stated in book or show that she is an atheist. There's a lot riding on this statement, imo, because the beauty of the story is in the relationships between faith and science.

I love every podcast you guys do. Episode 16 was great! I am so on board with you about Roger. I really like Richard Rankin but this series makes him really stupid. There are times on my rewatches I have to skip over the scenes with R & B. I don’t like Brianna too much either. So they are a matched set, on occasion ( oops, did I say that out loud?) I’m anxious to hear your take on Season 7! Keep on podding!

I am so glad I found this show while waiting for the season 7 premiere. I love Outlander so much, but that doesn’t mean I can’t fast forward through Roger singing (again!) or find some of the plot points problematic. I like that the episodes aren’t an episode by episode breakdown as it lets them focus on bigger thematic things or style choices. The hosts are thoughtful and hilarious (and often both at once). And like the hosts, I also love Rik Rankin the person. But Roger is the worst.
