How the Crockpot Changed My Life (for real!) with Stephanie O'Dea

What if you wanted to stay home so badly with your kids, that you were willing to try an unconventional work-from-home strategy? What if it involved a new year’s resolution and your crockpot? And what if that crazy idea landed you on the Rachel Ray Show and the New York Times Best Seller list?
Today I welcome to the show my friend Stephanie O’Dea. She is a New York Times Bestselling author, the host of The Slow Living Podcast, and the blogger behind A Year of Slow Cooking. In Part 1 of our conversation, we discuss
How the crockpot changed her life (for good)
How the Instant Pot changed it again (for bad)
Her most popular crockpot recipe (because it’s that good!)
Her personal favorite crockpot recipe (that she invented!)
Her worst crockpot disaster (don’t try this at home!)

Battling Spiritual Resistance When All Hell Breaks Loose with Teresa Whiting

Battling Spiritual Resistance When All Hell Breaks Loose with Teresa Whiting

I hate to burst your bubble, but whenever you step out in obedience to God, all hell breaks loose. That is exactly what happened when my guest embarked on writing her Bible study for sexually broken women: Graced: How God Redeems and Restores the Broken. Today, I welcome back my friend Teresa Whiting for Part 2 of our 2-part conversation where we talk about what to do when you encounter spiritual resistance. Teresa shared some solid truths about herself and others through writing this study. We discuss our mutual aversion toward a thing that appears on both of our To-Don't Lists. And Teresa encourages the woman who feels sexually broken today. For show notes visit https://thescooponbalance.com/190

Today I welcome my IRL friend, Teresa Whiting. She has written an incredible

Stuff I'd Only Tell God with Jennifer Dukes Lee, Part 1

Stuff I'd Only Tell God with Jennifer Dukes Lee, Part 1

Gut-level honesty is vulnerable and scary–a bit like walking into a room with no pants on. It takes a special kind of courage and holds a special kind of power that leads to a form of intimacy with yourself and with God. Today I welcome Jennifer Dukes Lee. She has written a beautiful guided journal that will push your limits of vulnerability and self-reflection. It will plumb the depths of your history. It will help you understand what makes you tick and what ticks you off. It's a journal that offers you space to write what you believe to be true and the truths you’ve reconsidered. It’s a place to record all the outlandish and outrageous things that make you you. This is a fantastic conversation about asking the right questions. Listen in. Clutter-free

I can relate to Lisa sharing her experience with a mother who “kept” things. Lots of things and having to deal with your mother’s collection after her passing. Only for me I haven’t finished, but listening to Sandy and Lisa talk reminded me that it is doable. Great episode.

So Life-giving!

I recently found this show and I am so grateful. I’ve been so convicted and my eyes have opened so much about the whole social media. I am an online business owner and I kept telling myself I need to have social media in order to have an online business, and this has been so helpful for me to really shift my perspective and the more I listen the more I am confident that I need to leave social media
