The Belgrano Diary
The sinking of the General Belgrano was the bloodiest and most controversial military action of the Falklands War. This is the story of government cover-ups and conspiracies; of whistleblowers, crusading politicians and journalists fighting for the story. And caught in the middle of it all, a young officer whose account of what happened contradicted Margaret Thatcher’s in every crucial detail. A new six-part podcast series, hosted by Andrew O'Hagan. Amazing story of political intrigue and shenanigans along with heart rendering consequences on real people’s lives. I was in the Falklands in 1976/77 shearing sheep at Goose Green and riding horses at the Stanley horse races. I met some truly memorable people and still to this day 47 years later communicate with my long ago friends in the Falkland Islands. Thank you Andrew O’Hagan and your team for producing this truly heart felt podcast.
