Culture Through Chocolate with Cindy of @CocoAndre_Chocolatier
In this week's episode I talk to Cindy Pedraza Puente of CocoAndre Chocolatier. She is an inspiring business owner, community builder, and mom and one of the first Oak Cliffites I met when I moved there over 5 years ago. I adore her chocolate shop, my favorites are the chocolate dipped candied orange slices. Mostly I love how charming all the little latinx inspired knick knacks and cards they sell as well as the variety of delicious chocolate treats all harken back to their central theme of bringing people together and sharing in love and delight.

Sustainable Shopping w/ Denisse of @oldhabitsvintageretro
In this episode owner-operator of @oldhabitsvintageretro (IG), Denisse Espinoza, and I talk about shopping sustainably through local vendors, enjoying thrifted clothes, and the shifts we made in becoming sustainable shopping lovers. Can Wellness Exist in Prison? with Jennifer Toon
This week I talk to writer, activist, and formerly incarcerated Texan Jennifer Toon. We chat about mental health, conditions in prisons, and the differences in treatment between men and women's prisons.
Referenced on this episode:
About Jennifer
"So a little about me, I am the Mental Health Peer Policy Fellow at the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities, and I focus on school discipline (making sure kids aren't punished for mental health crisis, or manifestations of a disability) and mental health and intellectual developmental disabilities intersection, and basically anything related to criminal justice reform in these areas.
I am also a member of the Statewide Leadership Council, a group of formerly incarcerated advocates who work on policies and legislation that would help those who are system impacted.
And, I am a freelance writer. I love writing about my almost 20 years of incarceration, in hopes that it transforms societal ideas about those who have been in prison. I will include some links!"
