#407: Ken Rideout – Marathon Champion Opens Up About His Real Struggles
Ken Rideout is one of the fastest runners over the age of 50 in the world. He won the 50-and-over division at the New York City Marathon (2:33:31) in 2021 and the Boston Marathon (2:30:21) in 2022 and he has come in second in that age division in London (2:29:54), Chicago (2:29:53), and Berlin (2:35:48). He also won the 2021 Myrtle Beach Marathon outright in 2:30:58 just before turning 50.
But in this conversation, we focused more on the real pain. How Ken went to trauma healing center, his struggles as a parent, physical pain vs. emotional pain, how to hit the next level emotionally and spiritually, and how to flip the switch to dominate.

Trevor Blake is an entrepreneur. He grew up in poverty. He started his first business at the age of 43 and went on to sell 3 of his businesses for over $300,000,000.
He founded QOL Medical LLC, a specialty pharmaceutical company, in 2002 with a few thousand dollars and sold it in 2012 for over $100 million. In 2006, he founded ANU Oncology, a unique not-for-profit dedicated to developing low side-effect cancer drugs. He has worked with companies such a Biogen, 3M, and Lipha.
Blake is donating all profits from Three Simple Steps to cancer treatment research and development in honor of his mother - who battled the disease for fourteen years and was the inspiration for his three simple steps. Having spent hours in the library as an adolescent reading biographies of successful men and women, Blake has committed to donating a copy of his book to every library in the United States in hopes that these concepts will inspire today's youth to take control of their lives.
