Dirt on stepping it up!
Hey there,
You two ladies have become the voices in my head when I’m planting peonies, starting seeds, opening up tunnels, and even when I’m doing laundry (which seems like a lot of the time).
I so appreciate your willingness to share your experiences (both good and bad 🤪) for others to glean from. One of my “bad” experiences was trying to store dahlia tubers for the first year. I kept hearing about peat MOSS and since for some reason I had no idea what that was I wound up storing the tubers in like a decorative green forest MOSS. They were total raisins by the end of the winter… but I won’t be making that mistake again 🤦🏻♀️
I am first a wife and homeschooling mama to our 4 kids, but growing flowers has been a passion and now a side gig for the last 3 years. I feel confident in growing the flowers but am always looking for time saving marketing tips. The area I live in is SUPER rural. My town’s population is 230 (no joke). I am needing a bit of a shove/kick/push to step up this biz while still fulfilling my primary duties.
Thanks for uniting us dirt bags with your podcast.

Spot on advice
I’m in my 6th year growing flowers for market and our farm stand and find myself nodding along and laughing out loud to this podcast. Super fun to listen to and their advice is spot on. Flower farming is not for the faint of heart and I appreciate that they keep it real.
Just listened to the 5 lessons episode
I’m currently trying to find a grove in my life. I work as a rn in a major hospital and work is supper stressful. Recently within the past year I have allowed myself to cultivate my personal joy with plants and flowers. I love your suggestion about being with people who support you and allow you to thrive. I’m paraphrasing but the gist I took from it was be uncomfortable and don’t be afraid to take a leap. So my goal in the next year is to grow and sell flowers. Thank you for the inspiration! I now will listen to all your past episodes.
