    Episode 023 - 100 First Dates—The Dating Sequel

On today's episode of The Divorce Tribe Podcast (Episode 023: 100 First Dates—The Dating Sequel) I talk about when dating when things start getting serious—when you start going steady, when you wear each other's letterman jacket, when you enter an exclusive relationship.
My goal this episode is to share my experience with relationships post-divorce, and what I have learned when things start getting serious. I talk about some tips for when you start getting into relationships and hopefully how those tips can help you navigate the agony and ecstasy of relationships post-divorce.

Episode 022: Divorce Portrayal (Or is it Betrayal) in Pop Culture

Episode 022: Divorce Portrayal (Or is it Betrayal) in Pop Culture

On today's episode of The Divorce Tribe Podcast (Episode 022: Divorce Portrayal (or is it Betrayal) in Pop Culture) I talk about how divorce is portrayed in pop culture—mainly movies and books.
My goal this episode is to share how TV shows and Movies have altered our view of divorce and what we can learn from those depictions while also avoiding perceptions that are wildly inaccurate. In all reality, as I researched this week's topic, I was able to find truths in even the most asinine movies that involve divorce or coparenting, such as Liar Liar and Mrs. Doubtfire, but there are also movies that portray the despair and struggles of divorce so accurately that it can be triggering.

Episode 021: If I Could Turn Back Time - Forgiveness in Divorce

Episode 021: If I Could Turn Back Time - Forgiveness in Divorce

On today's episode of The Divorce Tribe Podcast (Episode 021: If I Could Turn Back Time - Forgiveness in Divorce) I talk about that illusive principle of forgiveness. This was a difficult one to research and create because of the complexities associated with forgiveness but also because of how intensely personal the forgiveness process can be for each individual.
My goal this episode is to talk about whether forgiveness is always necessary, how people can seek forgiveness for the actions they committed, forgiveness from a religious perspective, and finally--how we can work toward forgiving someone who wronged us. Ultimately, forgiveness can be an important part of the healing process, but it is deeply personal and should come in your own timeframe.

Episode 020: 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover - What to Add in Your Divorce Decree

Episode 020: 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover - What to Add in Your Divorce Decree

On today's episode of The Divorce Tribe Podcast (Episode 020: 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover - What to Add in Your Divorce Decree) I talk about what people wished they would have added in their divorce decree.
My goal this episode is to give you a broad range of ideas that you can use when you talk to your lawyer or your mediator about what you want in the divorce decree. This will vary drastically person to person, depending on family, religion, whether you have kids, and who is actually filing for the divorce.

    Episode 018: Christmas is Coming

    Episode 018: Christmas is Coming

On today's episode of The Divorce Tribe Podcast (Episode 018: Christmas is Coming) I talk about the joy of Christmas after divorce. I share memories of Christmas from my childhood, from my marriage, and from my divorce, and how divorce has changed my perception of Christmas. Yes, this time of year will be different than it was when you were still married, but I'm not going to let my divorce ruin my favorite holiday! I'm going to enjoy it on the years that I have my kids and the years that I don't have my kids.
My goal this episode is to help you realize that even when dealing with unanticipated divorce and struggles, Christmas can still be a magical time--a time when you can create new traditions even as life looks different than how you pictured it.
