    S3 | E22: Is Keto Sabotaging Your Fertility? The Hidden Truth

    The Ketogenic Diet is one of the most health hindering and harmful diets to do. It is an antifertility diet. It is the worst diet you can do as a woman. Especially, as a woman who experiences reproductive health issues or desires to have children. Studies conducted on the Ketogenic are not longitudinal, meaning they are shorter term studies so they don’t follow the research participants over an extended period of time to assess the impact of the ketogenic diet longterm. Another important concern is that these studies are conducted largely on male participants, many are white male. This skews the evidence and does not reveal the true impact of keto diet on women’s health and bodies. Keto eliminates most clean carbohydrates and fruits. What is not widely known is that fruit is essential for fertility.  The body’s primary fuel is glucose not fat. The ketogenic diet entails eating primarily animal protein— this animal protein is high in fat which is hard on the female reproductive system and also creates surges of adrenaline in the body. The larger the animal, the larger the adrenals, the greater the concentration of adrenaline you will be consuming.  “Adrenaline is an antifertility drug.” —Anthony William  Stress and fertility are inversely related. When stress is high fertility is compromised. So the more animal protein you consume, the more adrenaline you consume, meaning the more you compromise your adrenal strength and fertility.  Keto codes the body for survival, not creation.
