Busy is a Choice (Read: Excuse)

Busy is a Choice (Read: Excuse)

In American society, being busy is perceived as high status. Saying "I'm busy" is a socially acceptable way of saying "I'm important". But are we actually busy? Or do we just think we're busy? What are the downsides to being "too busy"? What do the statistics have to say about busyness? And why do we default to claiming to be busy to get out of obligations? In this episode, I cover all of those questions and more. Enjoy!

    Series I Bonds: Inflation-Adjusted Superstars

    Series I Bonds: Inflation-Adjusted Superstars

Series I bonds are largely unknown and unheard of, yet are one of the safest investments one can make with returns that are adjusted semiannually to factor in changes to inflation. These are backed by the full faith and credit of the US government, making them essentially risk-free. Series I bonds offer a safe haven for some of your dollars and can allow you to maintain your purchasing power, if not increase it, as Series I bonds are likely to offer returns that far exceed that of any savings or checking accounts. Currently, new Series I bonds pay a composite rate of 3.54%. In this episode, I dive into what Series I bonds are, the benefits they offer, and why they could be an effective place to put some of your money. Enjoy!

Credit Cards and Financial Freedom: The Benefits of Credit Cards and the Cards I Carry

Credit Cards and Financial Freedom: The Benefits of Credit Cards and the Cards I Carry

Credit cards can be a very powerful tool in helping you achieve financial freedom. While some financial experts, most notably Dave Ramsey, strongly advocate against any forms of debt, credit cards included, credit cards offer some great benefits. As long as you are responsible and know how to use credit cards, their benefits can far outweigh any perceived costs. In this episode, I dive into the different types of credit cards, the benefits of credit cards, and which credit cards I have and use.
