Often our world is colored by our emotions. Our feelings feel so real, but are the
thoughts produced by these feelings accurate? This episode is a LOADED BAKED POTATO!! I talk about my vision for this podcast, my mental, emotional and TECHNICAL struggle to publish the first episode (IT GOT REAL) and what that triggered in me! I share my struggle with A.N.Ts (Automatic Negative Thoughts) and how I faced those giants one by one and slayed each one.

But wait, there's even more .. I'm still unpacking the effects of losing two significant figures in my life and I tackle topics like, when is it too risky to engage with those you love when you're wounded? Is there a way to isolate safely for a season? How do you know when you need help? What does good help look like and what the heck is brain fog (lol, random I know).

There's so much to discuss!! Let's get into it! Be sure to subscribe, share this podcast with a friend and let me know what you'd like to hear about next.

    Journey to 42

    Journey to 42

It's my 42nd Birthday! This last year, I've been on a journey, the loss of my last remaining parent destabilized my world in ways that I never imagined possible. At the memorial service, my Pastor preached a message entitled, "It's a different world." I've held onto his words as I've face this new world and learned to navigate this foreign land.

Journey: Travel or passage from one place to another. It's been an emotional journey, I've traveled from unimaginable pain to peace. It's been a physical journey, my physical body went through all types of transitions as it worked hard to help me recover and sustain me during this time. If I were to be completely honest, the longest, and most tumultuous battle, was the mental journey.

All year long, I've been working on me, and now I can truly, honestly say, I'm excited about year 42. These are the topics, many never speak of. These are the moments, that my life experiences have graced me for. I am finally in a place that I can share with you. This was one of the hardest things I've ever had to overcome, but I didn't do it alone, even though I tried to. I'm still a work in progress, but I learned so much on this journey, too much not to share. Let me tell you what I've learned and share my keys to recovery. Let me show you how you can live again after loss. This is my gift to you, come journey with me to year 42.

This first podcast isn't perfect. I was relearning the software, I had many tech issues, I was a bit nervous as I recorded. I considered recording it again, the perfectionist in me wanted it flawless, then I thought, in many ways it is perfect. I'm proud of the content, I avoided this assignment for weeks, but here it is, a completed project. So I kept it, as is, and I proudly present it to you as an example of progress over perfection and a demonstration of what being kind to yourself and celebration of wins looks like.
